The Role
Positive experience. Huge amount of training and learning which is invaluable. Staff are hugely supportive and prepared to help out, very approachable and generally friendly. Would highly recommend.
Not valued as such given that you rarely have anything meaningful to do in the sense that you have no responsibility. That said what you do do is often given full attention and appreciated when you do it.
Nearly always. Hugely supportive network, everyone from grads to MDs are approachable and willing to help. As long as you're not a time-waster everyone is prepared to help out.,
Comes and goes but ultimately you can always make yourself busy if there's nothing going on by meeting new people and offering to get involved.
No real responsibility but positive access e.g. to meetings etc.
Not remotely in degree studies but massively for beyond. Huge, positive learning curve.
The Company
Depends on the desk, some desks hardly spoke but mostly lively. They were always friendly and approachable though.
Extremely well structured. HR spent a lot of time organising and creating the internship to operate smoothly and to maximise opportunities available to us.
A huge amount. UBS really commits to helping and pushing you both financially and with time.
Still hasn't been decided - not possible to comment.
The Culture
Dropped off after the first couple of weeks which was disappointing. Could be improved if there was more of a drive for informal gatherings (rather than/instead of the less frequent compulsory sessions)
Expensive but that is London and expected. UBS also pays interns so that they're able to cover these costs so shouldn't be a problem.
Yes there are often activities available but beyond compulsory activities the optional ones are rarely advertised which is a shame given there are plenty on offer.
