The Role
I discovered markets and the front office for the first time. Really exciting in a Brexit time.
When they asked me specific tasks and told me that I done it well
For most of the time I had to figure out things by myself, and always take initiative.
I did long days because I came the first and left the last. So 6:40-19:30 usually. More than 12hours a day
Not at all but that makes sense giving the fact that my first rotation was trading. It was more an internship to learn and discover the industry rather than handle responsibilities.
The skills I developed and the training I received was exactly related to my degree in Finance/Economics.
The Company
In trading every one is really busy. It was really hard at the beginning to find a spot and succeed to talk with everyone on the team. But of course anytime I was talking to them and asking questions, they were patient and took of their time to answer me
The internship itself was really organized. Then on the rotations it really differed from one team to another. I wish I had a real long term project to do, so I would have had something concrete to show at the end.
They placed me into really interesting teams, tough but really good to learn. I'm really happy about this.
Sounds interesting but really tough. I already thought the summer internship was hard in terms of personal investment and ability to learn and understand complex theories. But on the same time, I know that if I get an offer I would be able to learn from the best. I am proud to have been a summer intern at Citi
The Culture
All the summer interns were really nice. I just wish we had more events organized during the summer to spend more time together.
Really expensive. I came from Paris and there was no help to find a place to live. London is a really expensive citi to live but we were paid extremely well.
To be honest, I had so much work that I didn't really enjoyed the night life. I also had to come some weekends.
Not at all.
