    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Probably the best professional experience I have had this far. I was surrounded by intelligent hard working people and worked in a competitive environment while still being able to have a life out of the office.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The people in my team were always eager to help me with my daily tasks, give me exposure to whatever I was interested in and also included me in out-of-office activities. My daily interaction with my colleagues made me feel comfortable and a part of the team from the first days of my internship.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was taking time to explain things to me, talk about my career and about what I liked and dislike frequently. I received a lot of support in every aspect of my work.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was some volatility in the workload but never too much on either extreme. There were days when I was done early with my work and I would take time to take extra trainings and meet other employees and other days that I had to carefully manage and prioritize my tasks to get them done on time.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I did not get much responsibility over my internship, I was mostly supporting more senior employees, and my work was always reviewed by someone junior before it got a stamp of approval.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learned a lot about he products and the functions of my line of business and also about banking in general. I would say that this 10 weeks gave me more relevant information and skills for my career and to a certain extend for my studies that a whole year in academia did.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The people were really friendly and always up for a coffee when they were not too busy. Of course everything was on a professional level but I enjoyed waking up and going to the office almost every day of my internship.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Over the 10 weeks I has some internal rotations within my department, which gave me a lot of exposure to what we were doing and gave me the opportunity to see the different stages of a deal.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The training was amazing and well structured. Also after it was done I got access to the internal training portal which allowed my to manage my training and even look at departments out of my line of business. Moreover, senior employees were frequently taking time to sit with me and explain things.

    5/5

  • Expensive! Manage your money wisely in London.
