The Role
Firstly, I am very lucky and have awesome manager and team. They are very supportive, inclusive and I really learn a lot from them. My manager told me at the beginning that I only here for 10 weeks, so it is what they (manager and team) can do for me, rather than I can do for them. And I actually learn and benefit a lot from that. Secondly, the HR organized lots of networking event, and I even have chances to talk to many high ranking people including ED and MD. Finally, they listened to employee's need and try their best to give you better experiences.
Inclusive, They mentioned me in every single event from the Town hall till a leaving drink. It was quite hard at the beginning, but as long as you know how to collaborate, they will be open and help you out a lot.
I had one hour review with my manager every week, where I have chance to listen and give feedbacks. It is incredible opportunity where I not only ask about my performance but also asking her questions about her experiences, and have lots of advices from her, I also have 'Project Management' 1 hour learning with her every week, where she teaching me skills, process, and how to become a successful PM. Further than that, as she sits next to me, I can ask her every single questions immediately, from how to use printer to review email before send out. she always happy to help me out.
It is a demanding job. Sometimes I got really busy and stay late, but sometimes I have very little work to do. In that time, I tried to shadow and overview people from other department.
I have given 2 big projects which I handled from E2E. I also own 2 big calls with stakeholder including VP and ED, when my manager away for her holiday. So I'd say very big responsibility
Apart from mandatory training. I has benefit from other courses in Learning Centre online of the bank, which helps me to enhance knowledge about products and also skills. However, I wish to have more classes, where I can interact more.
The Company
Very relax and fun. People are joking quite a lot
Good structure through out the internship. At the beginning, we were given a Calendar, which written down all the events/things happen during my time there. Also, we have Friday communications, which reminds/informs us events that will happen next week and also any change.
