The Role
I really enjoyed my work placement. The work environment is collaborative, and colleagues are approachable. The work is challenging and it is a fantastic opportunity to test yourself in Investment Management.
My colleagues made me feel valued throughout my time at M&G. In wider team meetings my work would be recognised and acknowledged.
Throughout my time at M&G my manager would organise weekly 1 to 1's, which would provide great support both on a professional and personal level. The senior analyst in my team, who I did work for, would regularly catch up with me to advise and guide me on my work.
Very busy, but still worked reasonable hours. (8.45-5.30/6) .
A lot of responsibility, my work was my own and I wasn't spoon-fed. It would be my responsibility to be active in asking or raising queries for help if necessary - but my team made me feel comfortable to do so.
Skills for life - there were many training sessions on various aspects of professional and wider life i.e. excel training sessions vs. well-being at work workshops, all of which I had been encouraged to attend and found useful.
The Company
Due to M&G's silo structure, the atmosphere from floor to floor is different. All floors have a collaborative, open and supportive atmosphere.
Very well structured and organised. Always knew what was happening in terms of internship insight talks and social events.
I was actively encouraged and supported in being part of M&G's happy, rewarding and community-spirited workplace. M&G may be a large organisation, yet I felt it was small enough to treat me as an individual and create an environment with a wide array of opportunities, networks and activities for you to grow and develop as a personally.

Company Parties/Events
Very appealing!!!
The Culture
yes - the initial social events, put on by HR, pulled us together to carry on the student life style outside of the workplace.
Spenny - we ain't up north anymore.
yeah was decent - the city never sleeps,
Endless opportunities but you need to be prepared to put yourself out there and maintain relationships, new or old.
