The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship and have gained an invaluable experience and depth of knowledge through exposure to a wide range of departments within the business. I also felt there was a very strong intern community with many opportunities to work together on projects particularly within the intern 101 teams.
I was always made feel like a valued member of my team and was given a high level of responsibility in set projects. I was trusted to carry out high priority tasks within a set time frame and to a high standard and I always felt my opinion was valued by others.
My manager was very supportive within my job role and always encouraged me to work towards achieving my personal goals and ambitious during my time at the company. My fellow team members/ supervisors were also more than happy to provide me with support and guidance when needed.
The start of my internship was not as busy due to my initial ramp up and training requirements. However after this period my work load increased and I undertook multiple projects on an on-going basis. Any spare time in between projects was spent preparing for MOS qualifications or planning for 101 team activities/events.
I was given a lot of responsibility early on in my internship which exposed me to a wide range of new skills and knowledge thus helping to develop my confidence and allowing me to grow. I was trusted to manage my own time and carry out these responsibilities to a high standard and in a timely manner.
I feel the skills and training I developed throughout my placement have been an invaluable asset to me and will not only assist me in my degree studies but also far beyond. I can know better apply my practical knowledge to my academic learnings thus improving my overall understanding.
The Company
The general atmosphere of the office was very friendly, fun, relaxing and informal. You were encouraged to participate and interact with other members of staff from different departments. Staff were very helpful and supportive towards each other which allows you to easily grow and develop. The modern quirky décor of the office provided a creative and homey setting helping you to feel relaxed and inspired at work.
The internship programme was well established and set up. The program provides you with 70% learning on the job, 20% learning from your manager, peers and mentors and 10% learning through structured courses and role-specific training. There is also many training sessions such as a three day induction and organised intern community events.
In terms of personal training and development I was provided with the same opportunities as my fellow team members during my placement year. I was invited to attend team training and workshop sessions for personal development including partaking in ‘Insights Discovery’ a programme which helped me understand my personality, develop interpersonal and communication skills and create better personal and professional relationships as a result.

Future employment prospects within the organisation are particularly appealing. The MACH Scheme provides the perfect bridge between academic and professional life offering a two year program that leads into a full time position within your chosen stream. This program is also very appealing due to the world-class training and coaching from a wide range of highly experienced individuals within the industry.
The Culture
There was a really good strong intern community. Fellow interns were very supportive and willing to help lend a hand in projects or volunteering events. Organised Intern off-sites also provided us with a good opportunity to interact with the wider community who are usually located in different offices across the UK.
The cost of living and socialising in the area that I worked in was very expensive approximately £1000pcm due to high rent and transportation costs.
The nightlife in the area I worked in was fairly good. There was a selection of restaurants and pubs downstairs for workers in the surrounding offices. However being situated right next to a train station and underground allowed for easy transport to other more lively nightlife scenes within central London.
There was a wide range of opportunities for interns to get involved in activities outside of work. These opportunities stemmed from volunteering events to product launches across various locations throughout the UK. Stretch projects also actively encouraged interns to get involved and help support the wider community outside of the workplace.
