The Role
I truly enjoyed my internship. At Barclays I had the opportunity to work in a demanding, challanging but at the same time supportive environment. A great experience.
All my colleagues were really supportive and friendly, therefore I didn't struggle to get integrated in the team. I feel they all valued my work and the ideas that I brought.
My line manager was extremely supportive and gave me challenging tasks from day one. She was always available to speak with me when I had a problem and she supported me throughout the whole Internship.
I was quite busy, having to deal with the work that I had to do for my team and the two additional group projects I had to work on. However, I feel that being busy/under pressure has allowed me to learn many important things (e.g. work under pressure, meet deadlines, cooperate efficiently in a team, etc.).
I feel I have been given quite a lot of responsibility. I have worked on many pieces of work for my team and I know a few colleagues of mine will use the information I have provided them with for their work.
This Internship at Barclays has been an invaluable experience. I feel I have learned so much and I have improved significantly both my soft and technical skills. I am sure all this knowledge will be extremely useful for any kind of future working/studying experience.
The Company
Extremely friendly, I was surprised by how everybody was always available to speak and interact with me from day one.
Very well organised, I had access to everything I needed.
We had quite a lot of training sessions (especially at the beginning, during the induction week). Afterwards, Barclays kept organising "speaker sessions" and learning activities, in which we had the opportunity to interact with professionals coming from different areas of the bank. All these events have been extremely interesting/useful.

Very appealing, I really hope I will get a place in the graduate scheme.
The Culture
Yes, all the interns were extremely open/social, it wasn't difficult to make friends.
London is pretty expensive, however Barclays' salary allows to cover all expenses Interns have to face.
Canary Wharf is very nice, especially for after-work drinks on Friday evening.
Yes, Barclays gives its employees plenty of opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work.
