The Role
The work environment was very enjoyable and the people amicable however the work was not engaging or interesting so the day to day work was not overly enjoyable.
Everyone values you in the company when you put in the effort and colleagues are always only too happy to help you out.
My manager was excellent with the project he had set me but was not interested in me seeing any of the business so I felt a bit confined in a corner of an office.
Not very busy but there was a slow stream of work to complete.
Very little responsibility but the work I did was useful for the company.
It has taught me what being in a large company is like. Although the work was not helpful for my degree it will be useful in the world of work.
The Company
A fairly positive atmosphere, not a huge amount of personal dialogue between colleagues but I know this was not representative of the whole company and just more my office.
My boss in particular was excellent at setting up a project and the scheme has been going for a few years so was well established.
They were looking at training you up for a graduate role so did invest in you but were mainly ensuring competencies prior to offering you a role.
Subsidised Canteen
Travel loan
I would be interested in future employment with JLR as I know it is a broad and diverse business and I have heard many good things and I know better suited areas must be out there.
The Culture
The other placement student were great at organising events and sports between ourselves.
Cost was ok but the area was not great and so for the money I don't think the cost was justifiable.
One club, was pretty fun the first time but not great to go to the same place every weekend.
A few sports clubs and graduate forums which wouldn't be in other companies.
