The Role
There was no set structure/project to the placement. The company claims that the undergraduates are only placed where a need is present, but this was false for not only me but a few other people. I had to actively seek work from other departments, and only really found something 7 weeks in.
Great set of people to work with.
The manager had very little time for us, and did not have the time to set us any work. However, when he did get time, he was very helpful.
Extremely bored, and very difficult to find work to do. I was placed in the wrong department for undergraduates as they rarely take on actual projects and are mostly responsive. I finally found work in a separate department and worked for them on my own. But I met the right person to give me work by chance. This was the case with most people I worked with and 12 weeks was way too long for the work available.
Very little responsibility was actually given to me. It is a large firm with a lot of red tape before getting anything done.
Most of the skills I learned were entirely self driven as I worked on-line in all the spare time I had available doing nothing for the company.
The Company
The office had a great atmosphere with everyone extremely helpful and willing to go out of their way to answer questions and give guidance.
There was minimal information available pre-placement with a lot of the information provided after you had to select the placement itself as it was so late you had to effectively decide to go with them. My department did not know what to do with me, with a lot of people not aware of my arrival. The accommodation option was in a very sketchy part of Coventry and quite far from the site.
They have a lot of online and offline learning schemes, with our manager encouraging us to develop as much as possible.

The quality of the work you do in the firm comes down largely to luck. If you get placed in the right department, at the right location, at the right time, it can be amazing. If not, it can be a drag with the ability to move being restricted.
The Culture
It was great at the accommodation, but extremely poor at the firm itself.
The rooms were £90 a week with transport ranging from 2-10 pounds depending on whether the park and ride scheme was running and if you were willing to cycle. The living costs were standard Coventry rates with lunch at the canteen averaging 3.50.
Entirely subjective, but you can look up Coventry.
Not much was available to the summer interns from the company.
