The Role
High level of exposure into real projects. Gives one the opportunity to develop their confidence, business acumen and skills set.
Colleagues treated me with respect and gave their time to help me when required.
Support and guidance was provided where neccessary. A few times there was a lack of it. But overall, a lot more guidance and support was provided than not.
Some days were quiet, and some were extremely busy. All dependent on the project you are working on and the time frame allocated.
I was provided with large projects, and has the opportunity to own projects and execute them. I also had the opportunity to work on a highly confidential project.
I don't thinik all skills and knowledge built can specifically assist in better preparing you for your studies.
The Company
The office varies in different areas. Some loud, some quiet. This also varies accross divisions.
No specific structure, but a high level of exposure is available if you are willing to take charge.
The companies approach to development follows on the job training instead of extensive investment in their employees. This is a cost saver, but there is a large trade off.
Subsidised Canteen
The company is cutting jobs, but there is scope to change to different positions within the business. If you have certain skills, you will be highly desired, and therefore be an asset to the company.
The Culture
At times yes, but definitely not enough. I do think the company could have made more of an effort in order to run events, which would definitely increase the social scense amongst us interns, and of course develop our network.
Accommodation is provided to interns.
A lot of variety in terms of pubs and clubs.
There were opportunities when you identified them yourself.
