The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed it - both the work and the atmosphere and people at the office.
The office was a very supportive place to work.
I was given all the relevant training to do the project i was given, and my manager always made sure that i understood what i was doing, and knew what my goals for the day/week were.
I was never without work to do, but also didn't feel stressed or overworked.
I was given full responsibility for my project.
Learnt alot about general insurance as a whole, and also some more specific details learnt through the programmes i was working with, which will be useful when starting a graduate job.
The Company
Despite everyone working hard, there was a really nice feel to the office, and good banter. Pub lunches on Fridays meant a real sense of cohesion in the office.
Everything was ready for me when i arrived, with my own desk, and my line manager ensured i had work to do throughout the project.
They set up many presentations about their different areas of business, and had 3 days spread across the 6 weeks where all the interns were brought together for the day.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Starting a graduate job with them.
The Culture
Both with the other interns and colleagues. All the interns went to lunch together everyday, and often went for a drink after work.
I was in Epsom, so not as expensive as london, but not too cheap either.
Some nice cocktail places!
Plenty of sports clubs eg football and badminton, and many socials.
