About You
I loved it and felt I learnt a lot. It was both fun and quite challenging.
We were obviously "the interns", and not expected to do anything actually valuable, but everyone went out of their way to make us feel included in company life.
My line manager did a great job of always being on hand if I needed anything urgently, or there was often someone else with the experience I needed who was willing to help.
I learnt a lot of programming skills, which won't be that relevant in my degree but definitely will be beyond that, as it made me want to pursue this further.
The Company
We got a week and a half of training before the project started fully, so I thought it was pretty well paced over the 4 weeks. Sometimes it felt a bit like we weren't working towards any fixed goals, however.
Good fun, geeky, and hard working.
4 weeks of training with a line manager supervising the 6 interns - quite a lot.
It felt a bit like a fun project more than a real job but the structure seemed realistic.
Definitely, I really felt like all the interns were part of it.
It was my first real insight into this world and I think it really convinced me to go down this route.
Everything Else
Yes, most evenings had something on.
Not exactly networking but a lot of social stuff, focused mainly on the pub though.
Yes, these were constantly advertised - we went bowling, had a barbecue, a picnic.
