The Role
The exposure to real project experience was unexpected but invaluable. I had a great time on my placement and met some amazing people.
The team I was working in made me feel comfortable and were consistently offering praise on the work I was completing.
I was speaking with my supervisor every week almost to discuss how to best use my time. Any questions I had they were always available and happy to answer them.
I never had nothing to do, I was always working on something. Some days, naturally were busier than others though.
Some of the tasks I done were being issued to clients therefore that is a huge responsibility.
This placement has opened my mind to a different way of thinking. It has been really good to see how real project work is taken on. I have also become more confident in my decisions and what I know. My people skills have also improved over the course of my placement.
The Company
Extremely relaxed. Although everyone was so busy and had a lot of work on, it was inspiring really! There was always time for a laugh, never did that get in the way of project work though!
Absolutely no issues at all to say there was a lack of organisation anywhere.
Any software I required I requested it an it was always approved. Any courses I wanted to do, I got to do them all as well.
Company Parties/Events
I am unsure however, I am certainly hopeful that I would like to work for the company in this organisation.
The Culture
Another placement student and I interacted well with one another and helped each other with each others work.
Not really applicable in terms of living. I travelled.
I was travelling a distance to my placement so didn't experience much nightlife. Seen one night out with the team and that was a great night!
There is a football league between engineering companies but outside that I am unsure.
