The Role
The internship was as I expected for a financial services company, very beneficial work experience along with various opportunities to network with staff ranging from senior staff to other interns.
I was very happy with my team, I was included in all meetings and discussions even if I was not working directly on an aspect of the project that was being discussed.
I was always given support when needed but they expect you to take initiative and solve problems on your own when you can.
It was a good balance.
I was an important member of the team but I was not given anything too vital that could crash the system.
Learnt some programming knowledge that I would not learnt at University but the main work was getting used to the system.
The Company
Standard office as you'd expect
Very organised, we were given clear goals to achieve.
Standard training
Company Parties/Events
A company where the most important thing is delivering good results consistantly.
The Culture
Regular Intern socials
Affordable
Large city with several nightclubs and bars
5-a-side football was very appealing to me, but other than that activites were limited to after work drinks.
