    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • The internship was as I expected for a financial services company, very beneficial work experience along with various opportunities to network with staff ranging from senior staff to other interns.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • I was very happy with my team, I was included in all meetings and discussions even if I was not working directly on an aspect of the project that was being discussed.

    • I was always given support when needed but they expect you to take initiative and solve problems on your own when you can.

    • It was a good balance.

    • I was an important member of the team but I was not given anything too vital that could crash the system.

    • Learnt some programming knowledge that I would not learnt at University but the main work was getting used to the system.

    • Large city with several nightclubs and bars

    • 5-a-side football was very appealing to me, but other than that activites were limited to after work drinks.
