The Role
The CDP internship programme was great. They organised lots of events for the interns and we were always kept busy.
Everyone in the office and wider employees always listend to what I had to say and valued my opnions. Nobody looked down on me just because I was an Intern.
My manager was a few desks down from me so I could speak to him whenever I needed to. We had weekly meetings to go over the projects I was working on and he was very supportive and approachable.
The first few weeks involved alot of trainning which kept me busy. When my projects started I hit the ground running. There were a few days here and there that wern't busy but they were more of a welcome relief than anything else and it allowed me to focus on smaller tasks.
I was allowed to manage my own projects and time. I was always given guidance when I needed it but was allowed to work mostly under my own intitiative. I enjoyed the added responsability and it made me feel more valuable to the company.
I learnt skills that are applicable in any task I undertake. I learnt project management and time management skills as well as lateral thinking and soft skills. I have learnt how to behave in an office environment as well as how to analyse data and produce results.
The Company
Everyone in the office was extremely friendly towards me. There was different sections of the offices devoted to different sectors of the business so there wasn't complete interrgation but there was a shared kitchen area which acted as a good meeting point for staff. There was always a buzz in the office as my divison was a global team.
I knew well in advance about getting offered my placement which allowed me to look for accomodation. I always had information prior to a meeting, project or an event. On my first day my computer and phone systems worked perfectly and I was able to start my role straight away.
My first few weeks involved alot of virtual training to ensure I was up to speed on how the company works. This was extremely useful in the coming weeks and I felt adequately prepared for my internship. I felt like the company was putting alot of effort into training me and developing me as a person.

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship and would love to work for J.P Morgan chase. It has a really great people culture and strong work ethic. It has so many roles that you can always find something you will enjoy and will challenge you.
The Culture
There were plently of events organised throughout my internship which offered a great chance to network amongst other interns and colleagues. As a group we also organised our own events so that we could get to know each other more. It was great that we were all so close.
Living in and going out in London is expensive but J.P Morgan does take that into consideration. Even though it is expensive you get the chance to live in a vibrant capital city which never sleeps.
London always has something going on whether it be shows, clubs, music, exhibts or conferences. There is always something new to do and you are never bored.
Of course there are plently of events and activities going on across London but after working all week its nice to have your weekend to yourself.
