The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the internship, and would definitely recommend it to anyone
All my colleagues were incredibly friendly and welcoming them. I'm very excited to be joining the FS Audit team next summer. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]
I was given a lot of support, and guidance. I don't see this as a negative aspect, but I was given a lot of independence. This made the internship, if anything, more invigorating.
Incredibly busy! I found there was always work to do, which I thoroughly enjoy!
A lot of responsibility, which I throughly enjoy as I like feeling responsible. This included ensuring a partner signed accounts, and submitting a limited assurance report to the FCA
My Accounting and Finance degree at university is very theoretical, so the work I undertook has provided a practical foundation and allowed me to view accounting policies in a practical aspect
The Company
Extremely friendly and welcoming. All levels of the management chain were incredibly well integrated
It was very organised, but obviously due to the nature of the department and unpredictability sometimes deadlines would appear or urgent work needed to be undertaken. Once again, not a negative aspect as I thoroughly enjoyed this
I would say a lot. Everyone I worked with were quick to explain things to me simply, and were more than happy to take the time out to do so
Subsidised Canteen
Extremely. You are rewarded if you work hard, and progression within the firm is quick.
The Culture
Definitely. The social life including the dinners at away jobs, the leaving drinks and end of the month drinks were definitely something to look forward to.
Relatively high. But I stayed at home during my internship as I was able to commute. So rent free!
It's central London. So extremely good
There were a few, my department was currently in a transition however, so we didn't get to attend London Audit and Tax day. However, as an intern there were plenty of opportunities lined up, including social events such as Ping Pong at Bounce, the away course at Bradenham etc
