The Role
I really enjoyed my internship. I especially loved the fact that I felt like part of the team and that I could contribute in a meaningful way to the discussions and deals.
My colleagues were super friendly and funny. They always invited me out to social events such as drinks or after work outings, which was great. I never felt left out, and felt like a real team member.
My line managers gave me regular feedback that was to the point, and useful. Specifically, my line manager took me on a coffee chat in week 4 to speak to me about improvements I could make in managing expectations, which was very useful.
Very busy, but always with time to collect my thoughts. I would often spend the end of the day writing up what I had learnt that day.
Lots of responsibility - I sent emails to clients and prepared work for pitchbooks that would be shown directly to clients.
Any finance course I study from now on will be far easier, since I already know the application of the theory I will be learning. I think this experience will make a huge difference.
The Company
Always energetic, bubbly and humorous, without comprimsing on hard work and discipline.
I thought it was very well organised. I think the first training day arrival times should be staggered by 1 hour, with some to arrive at 8am and others at 9am so we don't all congregate in the same place. Otherwise, the rest was great. There were a ton of EMBRACE events which I loved and would like to see more of! Also, the number of events was not too much that you couldn't organise your own coffees or catch ups without spending too long off the desk.
I was trained personally very well - both by AMT and by my team members. I appreciate it a lot.

Company Parties/Events
I would love to work for Barclays, it's a great firm that I believe I fit in very well with culture wise.
The Culture
Yes, we had a lot of activities and meet-ups that were very worthwhile. The sociability of the other interns made the internship!
Canary Wharf - quite high. Croydon - moderate.
I think it was good!
Yes, quite a few, which I appreciated.
