The Role
Very much so. I looked forward to coming into work every day.
I felt like part of the team.
I never felt like I couldn't ask a question or phone a manager up to clarify tasks. I felt that I was supported the whole way through, just knowing that I could pick up the phone/go and talk to someone.
Varied as at the beginning it was training/learning heavy. After the second week I was kept very busy with a mix of long term and day to day work.
Much more than expected. I wasdoing work that would have been done by another team member if I wasn' there.
Hugely. The biggest points were concise writing styles, presentation skills, communications skills and analytical skills.
The Company
Great people, everyone had great senses of humour but worked really hard at the same time. It was a good example of how to produce excellent output while engagin with colleagues and having fun at the same time.
Very well, The speaker series (of Heads of business areas) was a great opportunity to ask questions and be exposed to leadership. The mid-term and end-of-term reviews let you know if ou were on track/how to improve
We were given soft skills and teachnical skills training at the start of the internship, followed by online and 'on the job' training. The whole 9 weeks was a continual learning curve and every time I met someone new, I learnt something different.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Good for interns moving into the graduate programme.
The Culture
Yes. There were a variety of different intern 'groups', so there was never a shortage of people to go out with if you wanted to.
Cost of living and socialising is high, as you would expect in London. Happy Hour prices for drinks were good.
Anywhere in London was accessible on the tube network and the bars around CW were very good. Can't complain!
Yes, many citizenship opportunities to get involved in. There were also sports teams and games organised by interns.
