The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed the internship. The structure of internship was impressive with many different social events, senior leadership talks and networking events taking place. Whilst the objectives set were challenging and was given many responsibilities, I was able to receive help from the team and enjoyed trying to not only meet, but exceed the expectations.
Felt that as time progressed through the internship, I was given more responsibility. As a result, I was able to contribute to team and felt valued by my colleagues.
The internship scheme provided us with our own 'Buddy' and mentor, whom were in the same business area. I was able to reach out to arrange meetings, where we discussed my progress, answer any questions I had and offer general support. In addition, my team were very supportive and offered guidance throughout.
The usual working day was 9-6, given the different roles and responsibilities I had. The initial objectives set gave a manageable workload but in order to exceed expectations, I often worked longer hours.
With my objectives, I not only had to complete 'Business As Usual' tasks, but was working on my projects, which inevitable brought on more responsibility which I liked.
The internship for me was about learning and contributing to the team. Not only was I able to develop new technical skills that will help me in completing my degree, but also improve my interpersonal skills.
The Company
Thought that the entire internship scheme was well organised. From networking sessions, to internal speaker events and charity projects, it was well structure.
Was given 3 full days training at the start of the internship.
