    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was ok, boring at times and not very relevant to my course.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I got on very well with my colleagues. They made me feel welcome and respected me.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a fair amount of training at the start but after that was left alone for most of the internship. It was nice to have the responsibility but at times I did struggle.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At times, sometimes more than a week, I was very bored. My tasks were pretty menial and did not take too long to complete. Often I felt like I was a hassle when I asked for more work.

    1/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Average. I did have to organise a few meetings and contact lots of people but other than that, not a lot.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not very much at all, I didn't really have to think too much and the tasks were not relevant to my course. However it was good to work in an office environment for a large company.

    2/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was alright, the atmosphere was pretty positive and everyone made an effort to get on with me. We had a laugh most days and I was sat close to other interns which was cool.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Pretty badly; it took a while to get new jobs and at the end of the summer I didn't really feel that I had achieved much.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given all the necessary training to do my job but other than that not much.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Fairly good, I think I have a good chance on getting on the grad scheme.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Was really good. We had fun in the office and had a fair few messy nights out.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Not too bad.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It was ok, we went into central london a few times because there were only a few bars around.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not really, other than the socials with the other interns.

    2/5
