  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my time at BlackRock, the work was diverse and interesting, and the atmosphere around the office was superb.

  • I was given a lot of responsibility to go away and complete tasks/projects on my own.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager was fantastic during my time at BlackRock and after leaving BlackRock. Any training or additional information that I needed was provided to me.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At certain times of the month I was border line 'too busy' but at the same time this is what made the job enjoyable because it meant that I was never bored.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Given lots of responsibility from day 1 which was great because it instantly made me feel like the company had confidence in me and my abilities.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills that I have learned and knowledge that I have gained will be instrumental in later years because they are all so transferable.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was fantastic in the office, it was a great team to work for.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I was the first 12 month internship to take place at BlackRock so there were a couple of teething problems but these have now all been sorted out.

  • I was given great training throughout my time with the company.

  • I had a fantastic time at BlackRock and would love to return on the graduate programme.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were numerous nights out throughout the year that were great in helping to get to know the team.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Expensive for a university student.

  • The nightlife was good, but very different to that of university nightlife.

  • There were a couple of charity events that you could get involved with and numerous sports teams that you could join.
