The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. The work was interesting and the people were extremely friendly and welcoming.
My colleagues made me feel included in the team, involving me in a number of different tasks, They were positive towards my work while offering constructive criticism in areas that I needed help.
I was always offered help where needed and never made to feel stupid for asking any type of question.
I was given plenty of jobs to do, there were occasions when I was waiting for responses from others to be able to proceed on a project that I found myself quiet, but I could always find training courses to get on with.
I believe I was given as much responsibility as was possible for my knowledge. I was able to head a project, as well as lots of other different tasks. However there were certain things that I would have required a deeper understanding of the business in order to be able to work entirely self sufficiently.
I have a much more in depth knowledge of powerpoint and excel. As well as an increased understand of conduct in a professional environment.
The Company
The atmosphere was extremely friendly and always pleasant.
There were a series of hiccups surrounding a responsible business challenge that was set for us including not having groups set up correctly, unclear expectations and a loss of information. But the overall intern in my business area was excellent.
I felt that I was pushed by my team in a professional manner and given the opportunity to progress. However, there were other interns who were given the opportunity to take courses in recognised financial qualifications that myself and others weren't given the opportunity to do.
Working from home
The salary is very competitive and you are able to experience 3 areas of the business during this time. However there is little to no flexibility in the area you can begin in.
The Culture
The other interns were lovely, however I didn't have any communications was a social rep that were advised would organise social events
extra funding was given for accommodation which was great.
a few good bars and clubs
a day to make a difference - charity day to get involved in
