The Role
Very enjoyable and useful with lots of overviews of different lines of businesses and also different teams.
I felt like I fit in well with my team, in the morning it's a light mood where I was chatting and joking with the rest of them whilst working and in the afternoon when it gets busier it got to a more serious atmosphere but with occasional light comments still being made.
Feedback given on a weekly basis.
Generally very busy but in a way which meant you didn't notice how quickly the time went but occasionaly too busy and not able to do everything, though that is normal in a job anyway.
I was taken on as a normal member of the team and so had full responsibility and also I was given two projects, one of which was my project and the other a project share among 4 interns, which both were very important and were left to me/us.
Not necessarily in my degree but it has helped me to further develop my soft skills which I will use in all aspects of my lift including future jobs.
The Company
There was a good balance between working and having a light atmoshphere throughout the office and indeed the whole campus.
They've been running the internship and graduate scheme for a long time now and have got the right balance, introduction and layout.
They want and expect the best out of everyone and want you to prove yourself to come back on the graduate scheme and so they put lots of time into training you and giving you overviews of the rest of the bank.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I am just approaching the end of my internship now but if I was offered a place on the graduate scheme I would take it.
The Culture
Apart from events organised by JP Morgan for interns there were events set up by the interns as well.
I lived at home and so didn't have to pay living expenses but Bournemouth isn't as expesnive for socialising as some other places.
Haven't had much of a chance to go to clubs but it does haves some good pubs and I hear it has good clubs.
I live in the area and so am involved in some things outside of work such as Aikido and Bournemouth does have oppurtunites for other things as well.
