The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my summer placement. Every day there was something new to do and something exciting to overcome.
The people on the project really let me feel like one of the team and helped me with whatever I needed to complete my job and progress as a Civil Engineer
Although my manager was very busy he always made time to speak to me and help me when needed. There are always enough people to approach for help.
Changes from day to day however most of the time a fine balance. There are a few busy moments however this is expected on a fast moving construction project!
I was able to work on pieces of work with large importance with as little or as much guidance as I wanted. This built my confidence and also quickened the rate of my learning.
The skills I have learnt are invaluable and transferable to my next year at university as well as my future in Civil Engineering
The Company
Great atmosphere. Everyone was approachable and friendly
Very well organised and HR always on hand to help out
Positive, engaging and everyone was approachable
Company Parties/Events
Travel loan
Very appealing. Great graduate scheme with competitive pay.
The Culture
Yes there were often weekly drinks, lunches and events
The cost of living and working in london was high however this was balanced out with a London allowance as well as a travel allowance
Its London!
Due to the longer hours it was limited however plenty of drinks and socials in the evenings if you weren't too tired
