The Role
Really enjoying my time on placement, very nice environment and great learning experience
I get on really well with all my colleagues and like working with them. They make me feel comfortable in this working environment and are all very supportive.
Any questions I have are answered and I am given all the support I could ask for. Being a student I heavily rely on my superiors and they are always available for a chat. Also receive lots of great advice for the future.
I always have work to so and something to keep me busy.
I'm given loads of responsibility which makes my placement very enjoyable as I really feel like an important part of the team. In absence of my superiors I've been given added responsibilities.
Apart from all the technical education I have received I've also picked up so many social and political skills that I think are great for developing myself and my career.
The Company
Given that everyones really friendly and I get on well with everyone its a very nice atmosphere to work in. There's always someone to chat to if you need a 5 min break from work.
I was told where I was working and what I was doing in time and everything was there in time for me to start on my first day.
I think that the company is very attentive to my progress on my placement and also generally in my career. I was taught lots of things to further my knowledge in the field. I think that the company has invested a lot in myself.
Since I'm a sponsored student with Costain I will hopefully have the opportunity to work with them once I graduate depending on my academic progress.
The Culture
As mentioned before, the atmosphere was very enjoyable to work in and this was also due to the fact that everyone was friendly with each other.
I stay at home and commute to work so I don't have the opportunity to socialise in the local area where I work.
