    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Fantastic experience, made the most out of my summer!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Felt more valued during my first rotation (we had to do 2), so I guess it depends on the team on your desk.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Again, more guidance during my first rotation, so dependent on team.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was really busy during my first rotation, did a lot of interesting work that also helped me a lot for my knowledge on the products and more administrative work at the second desk. This was less helpful for my skill set, but left some time to learn more about the products.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A lot of responsibility during the first rotation, less during the second one.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Learned more than in one year at university, really great experience!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • People are really young and relaxed, nobody was unfriendly.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • HR did great work, everything was really well organized!

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They really wanted us to take away something form the internship, we had workshops for Excel, Bloomberg, Reuters and other programs and did assessment centres, trading games, etc.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Young bank, great, friendly and intelligent people, good payment!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Lots of alumni from my home university, like in the rest of London lots of people from French universities.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is expensive, no doubt about that. However, banks pay interns enough to compensate for the high cost of living in the city. I had no problems in terms of funding...

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Drinks almost every Thursday and Friday after work, going out in Shoreditch every week.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Less activities outside work...

    3/5
