    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • 8 - The internship has been a great experience, I have learnt a lot of skills which will help me make strategic career moves and have given me a real insight of what life would be like as an in-house lawyer and the chance to work in the legal field for 10 weeks has been an infallible experience.

  • 7 - My line manager set me a series of task in which prior to me performing the task she ensured that it was carefully explained and that I had the understanding required of me to perform the task to the level required. We had regular meetings where I was able to update her on the work I was doing and what stage in the task I was.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • 7 - As usual there are always some days which are busier and days where I had more capacity, however I felt that it was a good balance spread out across the 10 weeks. the initial 2 weeks were slow to kick off but once it did I was keep busy daily.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • 10 - My line manger had career one to ones with me to teach me a few skills which I can use in my last year of degree and helping me develop a career path and a contingency plan for the next few years mentoring me through the process and training me on what to expect in private practice.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was well organised as everything was set up prior to my arrival and it helped me to set in a lot easier as i was up and running from the first day. They had also pre booked me accommodation for the duration of my internship as i lived far from where i work and thus is would make it easier for me to commute to work

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company had various shadowing days set up for me in other departments and on in a private firm which was good for personal training, however I would not necessary say they have invested in me as a few of my requests were turned down due to budgeting which meant I was not able to make of this 10 week all that I wished to.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would say for the near future the organisation does not met the career prospects that I would wish for as they do not have a lot of capacity to help or to aid individuals who wish to take a legal route in comparison to the other departments who can go through the graduate requirement. however, I may consider it in the future as a path that I would pursue in the distant future.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a social scene amongst all the interns which was good because it made the internship more enjoyable and it gave us something to do once we had finished our day of work

  • To engage in any socialising was very expensive as we were in the centre of London and we had no big supermarkets that close so it was expensive
