The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my work placement. not coming from a property background the rotation of the scheme allowed me to gain a deep understanding of what Savills do and what day-to-day jobs a graduate surveyor does.
I felt like part of the team straight away. I was given los of tasks and responsibilities which I didn't expect as I've not studied property before.
everyone was super friendly so I always felt like I could ask anything. My supervisor was extremely organised and always updated my calendar so I knew what was going on and what I had for the upcoming day.
I always had a task to work on but never felt over whelmed. I did have to stay late on some occasions if there was a pressing deadline.
The level of responsibility I was given was good as I was given the same tasks as a graduate and worked closely with the graduates to make sure I understood everything. I think the responsibility
I developed networking skills due to the social events organised by Savills. The first hand property experience will assist me massively during my masters, as i will be able to related academic literature to my past experiences.
The Company
atmosphere was great, everyone was really friendly.
Really well organised. All my IT was set up on my first day and I always knew exactly what was going on. Monday's always had some confusion as I would be starting a new team.
Very appealing. It was extremely insightful for me to work with the graduates and realise that the future employment prospects is something that appeals to me.
The Culture
There was a good social scene within Savills, I went to the pub at lunch on Fridays with the other graduates.
It was pretty reasonable. The bars around the office were some of the most expensive in town but still not too over priced.
Lots of other young professionals in the area so lots of things going on.
was hard to get involved when I'm only here for 4 weeks but for permanent employees there is lots going on, especially sports.
