The Role
I have learnt so much more than I had thought in the last 10 weeks, from technical skills to how to building working relationships. The internship had a good balance between training and on the desk assignments, coupled with social events to get to know the teams and interns in a more informal setting.
This was probably one of the highlights of my experience: I was given the opportunity to take ownership of significant assignments and had the chance to present my work to the senior executives. My team valued my input and has constantly encouraged me to voice my opinions.
My manager gave me just the right amount of guidance: high-level supervision with the autonomy to take ownership of the projects.
The days are packed but you are constantly learning so much on the go that you do not realise the days are passing by so quickly. At the end of each day, you feel that you have accomplished and learnt something new.
As mentioned previously, I was given significant responsibilities, which made the experience so much more enriching because you learn to form more nuanced and comprehensive opinions, be confident in actively sharing your views and shape your own learning experience.
More than anything, I think I took away the lesson of how to build effective working relationships and to carry myself well in a professional setting.
The Company
It is a good mix between working hard and also enjoying ourselves in the meantime over social events.
It was very well organised- every event was communicated to us beforehand and we were sent timely reminders.
My manager spent the time to craft our my learning experience and plan out what projects to assign to me to give me a breadth of exposure and the chance to present to senior management.

I would definitely like to work here!
The Culture
There is a good social scene and every Friday we gather for drinks after work, which is a good way to catch up after the week.
Cost of living is relatively high in Canary Wharf but it is manageable if you seek out the right accommodation (do research ahead of time to find good options).
It is good though people tend to go out on Fridays beyond Canary Wharf.
Definitely, I would have loved to be more involved in other activities and the interns are always welcomed for such events.
