The Role
I had a great time, I got to work on some really interesting products and had great opportunities to learn.
All of my work is being used in products in some way, and my opinions were asked and I felt well respected.
My mentor and manager were very supportive and willing to lend a hand at a moments notice, which was great because I'd arrived with very little software background
I always had plenty to do, but was never overly busy. Any time I felt like I was coming to the end of a particular hurdle there was always a new project to get started on or some additional ramp-up to be done before moving on.
The company are very easy going and friendly, so you have reasonable flexibility regarding your working hours and suchlike - which was a lot of responsibility! Also, my code is going out in customer products and I certainly wrote it all - so overall a lot of responsibility. In saying that, there is of course a code review system so I never felt out of my depth and there was always someone to make sure I hadn't made any critical errors.
The skills I've developed will aid me greatly, my understanding and knowledge in the area of software development has increased exponentially over the past 3 months. I intend to take this further by taking a university course in a new programming language and using the software development processes I have learned.
The Company
great
well structured, everyone was happy to tell me anything I didnt know.
I have learned incredible amounts while I've been here. The company gave me my own desk and a new PC and then always left me with time to learn new things and delve deeper into what I was doing. They definitely invested a lot in me.

I'm very interested.
The Culture
Yes, we all went down to the London office for a week for a week long event.
Living in Edinburgh is fairly expensive for Scotland, but overall not bad. I already live here for university, so it didn't impact me.
Great
Lots, there are things like monthly poker as well as lunchtime sports
