The Role
During the whole time, starting from when I applied to the end of the internship I was looked after very well, both from the Campus Recruitment team and my colleagues. There was the opportunity to join many networking events as well as training sessions and volunteering.
From the beginning I felt as a full member of the team. I was given projects I had to takle independently but got support at all times. My team geave me the feeling as if my work would contribute to their success.
Even though he had a very busy schedule my manager was tbere for me at all times. I found an good friend in my buddy and learned a lot from her in terms of self-branding and corporate awareness. Both of them were accessible at all times.
My manager left me great freedom in my work. I was working mainly independend and so could determine my daily workload myself. My team made sure though that I would not work at extreme hours.
I was working on two project all on my own and was just giving my manager regular status updates. I had to overcome any difficulties leveraging global teams accross the company.
During my internship I gaind new technical skills as well as I improved my personal skills. Both will help my at my last year at university and also my future career.
The Company
I was placed in a very young team. People got on very well with each other and even though all of them were very busy it was always a pleasant athomosphere. We went out fot lunch together and and would have after work drinks on special occasions or before the weekend.
I was impressed by how organised everything was. The Campus Recruitment team kept us updated at all times.
Before we started the internship we were given access to an online learning plattform which offered course on financial, economical and management topics. The program started with an one week training course, where four days where financial training mixed with one day soft skill training. During the time at our desk we were give the opportunity to join several trainings/presentations on different, mainly technical topics.

The last day of the internship program is the offer communication day. Every intern get a short meeting slot and either an offer or rejection will be made by the Campus Recruitment team.
The Culture
Due to networking events before and during the internship we got to know each other very well and there would always be people around willing to socialise.
Canary Wharf is not an cheap area for going out but with the compansation we got from the internship still affordable.
The bars in the wharf are are buzzing every evening on woringdays and central London is not far away for weekends or clubbing.
As interns we where give the opportunity to join any of the companies social or sport clubs. Also some of those clubs organised special events during the summer, e.g. a charity dragon boat race.
