    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The 6 weeks were very enjoyable, I was not bored at any point and the type of work varied a lot.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt valued because the work I completed was actually used to complete the audits.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Every time I asked for help someone would stop what they were doing and explain to me in full what I needed to do.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was always work to be done. If the workload in my project reduced at all, I was able to work on another project.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility from the very start, completing the same tasks as some of the full time employees.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt how a number of businesses operate which I feel is invaluable information in whatever career I choose.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very friendly indeed, everyone seemed to get along well. Everyone from 1st years to partners went on the office social event.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised, I was booked to a project every week and spent time both in and out of the office.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I received a lot of on the job training both by asking questions and shadowing employees.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    Healthcare/Dental

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing. Promotions seem to occur regularly, and can even happen early if you work hard enough.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were only three interns at this office so not really. We went on the office social event together and we went for meals and drinks with the full time employees. At the London office I know that there was a very good social scene among the placement students.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Cambridge is a very expensive place to live and socialise.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The Cambridge nightlife is ok, not as good as most big cities but much better than any small town.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not really while on the internship but countless once you join full time.
