The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed it, the team was great
Colleagues really appreciated the work I gave in and encouraged me to keep going. Valued what and how I did my work
Support was readily available. My line manager and the rest of the team were very easy to approach and ask for help when I was stuck.
I was not really that busy. Some days I had a work load enough for the day, others, I barely had anything to do.
I was given a fair amount of responsibility. Initially I would be supervised, however I was independently working a few weeks into the internship
The skills I learnt were greatly useful. I learnt how to professionally work in a team and how to manage my time. I improved on my punctuality and the internship made me greatly motivated to do well in my degree so I could come back for a graduate placement.
The Company
The atmosphere was lively, the people were jolly and extremely friendly. It was great to work there as you wouldn't feel stressed going to work, however, work was the main priority
Initially, the organisation was terrible. The process to get the internship was not what I expected. The place for my assessment centre got switched around a day before I was supposed to go in so paid unnecessarily more for train tickets. And once I got the internship, I was told and then didn't hear back from them for months. Documents got lost in the process and I had to go back several times to submit evidence for my background vetting. Nonetheless, once the internship started, everyone was prepared and it went well.
Greatly invested in the interns
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Future employment prospects seem good. A lot of the interns are offered a graduate job right after their internship which is excellent as you don't have to go through the whole process of applying.
