The Role
I rate this 'Best Job Ever' (partly because it was my first job). I liked the environment, the atmosphere. If I could turn back time I would definitely apply again for this internship.
Well, there is nothing 'like family' (at least for me). But working with another (only) four people on the project and being seven persons in the office helped us to get to know each other very quickly.
We had daily stand-ups, weekly status chats in which we could ask for help, give indications. Also my supervisor was available for chats or clarifications almost any time of the day.
The pace was good and I dind't feel very tired even after longer days. Occasionally I found myself waiting for other tasks to finish before I could continue my work.
I started with simpler tasks. Then, both simpler and complex tasks have been assigned to me.
I don't really know if the technical skills that I acquired here will assist me in my degree studies but they will definitely assist me beyond. Also, the social and time management skills that I acquired by being an intern will help me on my way.
The Company
Small team = a lot of fun, at least in this case.
The details of the project that I worked on were not all clear, but we successfully followed the plan that was present to me at the start of the internship.
All my coworkers were eager to help me in any way they could. We had some books available to study. We had access to the company's own wiki with stuff on both general topics and specific ones.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
The current situation of the company is not suitable for hiring, but further collaboration is expected.
The Culture
We were two interns (both students) in the same office.
I stay in the student dormitories of University Politechnica of Bucharest so the cost of living (in my case) is very affordable. There is a variety of places you can drink or eat both cheap and expensive.
I am active at night only on very special occasions. From what I heard, there are a lot of places were you can have good time at night.
We often play games during the lunch break. We went bowling one time.
