The Role
Excellent assistance given at all stages. Lots of responsibility for one's own work - allowed to gain experience in many areas
Everyone asked how things were going and were interested in finding out progress in projects. Very relaxed atmosphere allowed me to fit in easily.
Support and guidance in abundance. Company had a good review process throughout placement.
Kept very busy although that was through choice. Allowed me to gain more from the placement.
I had responsibility for all scheduling of my trials etc which ment I could be as busy or not as I wished although in order to produce good work I opted to be busy.
Definitely believe the skills learnt will assist me in future employment and learning.
The Company
Everyone got on with their work although jokes were common.
Couldn't have asked for more.
Lots of visits to other sites & plants to widen knowledge & meet other interns - also attended a training course
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Hope to return next summer - although completing dissertation in conjunction with them this year!
The Culture
Slightly isolated as most of other interns situated in England. We made the most of what we had.
Glasgow is a reasonable area in which to work and socialise - student accomodation can be rented at a reduced price to other letting agencies.
Inchinnan is close to Glasgow which has a great night life! I would highly reccomend a night out in the city centre.
For students in England there were better opportunities to get involved in activities as the R-R headquarters are based in England.
