    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Had a brilliant time - learnt a lot, faced plenty of new challenges and made some great friends.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • BP has such a welcoming culture where people are treated as individuals and truly valued for what they have to give.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support I had was extremely helpful and my supervisor taught me a huge amount but as it was the summer and a busy time for the project I was often left unsupervised for as much as up to 3 weeks. However we spoke on the phone most days and there were other people around too. This wasn't always a bad thing - it gave me the space to be innovative and think outside the box a bit.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Always busy with lots to do but never did it feel too much. There was enough pressure to make it exciting.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Right from day one I was given actual work to do - it's a real learn on the job internship. That includes making a few mistakes but no one expects you to get it right first time, every time. The work I've done will now be used over the next two years steering the direction on the project and it's a great feeling knowing that your work is valued.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I study a completely different subject to my internship but have still found that whilst maybe not relevant to my degree the skills I've learnt will be extremely valuable to both me and a future employer.

    5/5

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • A lot of time, money and expertise were diverted into each intern on an individual level - you always felt like they really wanted you around.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Working from home
