The Role
I was given challenging and stimulating projects during my time at HSBC. I was able to interact with senior managers across the company and carried out my own research that led to new processes and improvements being made to digital engagement for customers and staff.
I felt that overall I was valued and integrated well into the teams that I operated within, during my time in head office understandably many staff were incredibly busy, but I still got on well with them and was handed extra work. My time in branch was great as the staff were all very friendly and took considerable time out to help me.
I was always able to ask questions and was given constant feedback and advice that I will take forward to whatever career I may take.
There were some quiet times, but generally I was kept busy and stimulated and may days tended to fly by.
I feel I was given lots of responsibility to direct my projects in the direction that I wanted and was always given the support to make decisions and drive work myself.
Although I haven't started any studies since finishing the scheme I am sure that my experience will be hugely beneficial in providing great context to any theory that I will be learning on my course (Business Management - Cardiff).
The Company
I loved working in head office (Canary Wharf) as there was a strong atmosphere that encouraged hard work and commitment. The atmosphere in branch was friendly and welcoming.
Generally it was very well organised. There were however issues setting up IT systems and some webex talks that were scheduled to be held were cancelled with no prior email, this was a issue a couple of times when I had rescheduled work to attend.
I feel that I have developed hugely from this experience and it will provide me with fantastic foundations for my future career.

National Travel
I would be very happy to recieve an offer from HSBC as the graduate scheme is very appealing and could provide mewith a great launch pad to my career.
The Culture
We went out a couple of times and really got on, I have made friends from across the country that I will hopefully be able to keep in contact with into the future.
London was very expensive but I was well compensated with the pay.
I undertook several charity activities and was able contribute to thousands of pounds raised for various charites from the team that I worked in
