The Role
I love my job. This is my second placement with Laing O'Rourke as a trainee site engineer. I have learnt so much during my placement. The time spent with LOR has definitely helped improve my skills and I am not ready to be a site engineer.
As an intern, I am extremely valued at work. I am given important tasks such as setting out and I have engineering assistants to manage.
I have a meeting with my line manager every fortnight during which my progress is reviewed.
On most days, I remain very busy. Since construction of the structure keeps going, there is always things to set out or do.
I am given the same level of responsibility as a site engineer.
The skills and experience I have attain at work is extremely values for university as these will help me in university projects. I definitely feel that I have an advantage over students that have not undertaken a placement.
The Company
good level of communications.
I have been sent on work course during my placement which certainly feels that the company is thinking about my future with them.

Company Parties/Events
I would definitely recommend other students to apply for Laing O'Rourke jobs
