The Role
PLEASE NOTE: This review was for a placement at Bank of America prior to Bank of America merging with Merrill Lynch to become Bank of America Merrill Lynch. (The RateMyPlacement Team) There was a lot of learning opportunities
We worked very well as a team.
I was particularly impressed by the open culture of the MDs in my team.
I had a lot of responsiblities and worked on various projects at the same time during my internship at Bank of America
I was working with people from different business areas including leverage finance.
The internship further developed my time management skills
The Company
Although there was a lot to be done, we worked in a really relaxed atmosphere.
It was well organised with the training in the first week and some intern events during the ten week internship.
We had training in Finance and Company Valuation, Bloomberg, Factiva and other specialist search websites. There was also training in Excel and Powerpoint. Most importantly, we were given the opportunity to help on real transactions (M&A or Financing).
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
The Culture
There were many intern events that enabled networking between the interns.
It was not cheap as chips but at the same time it was not unaffordable.
There are many pubs in Canary Wharf
We had a touch rugby tournament with interns from other banks.
