About You
The insight program was really good. They did not just focus on themselves, but they also helped us grown. There were a couple of skills sessions (personal brand, negotiation skills, etc). Another huge advantage was that the assessment to get a summer internship for the following year was done during the 2 day program, meaning that within a couple weeks of finishing it you already knew whether or not you had an internship for next year.
They took very good care of us, made sure we were always fed, if people had dietary requirement that was also taken into account. They were all really nice and they wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves.
They told us exactly what was going to happen- they were upfront about the assessment, gave detailed description of the events that were to happen.
I felt that the actual lectures did not give as much useful information as they could have. In general I believe that practice and exercises are better than just listening to some one speak, which is why I thought the business game was a good idea as it gave us the opportunity to test some of our skills out.
The Company
It was well-organised, and the fact that it was a two day insight meant that it wasn't too much information overload.
Everyone was really nice and it was great to meet new people, The drinks at the end of the first day was also a great opportunity to get to know some of the people of graduate schemes.
They invested a lot of energy in organizing the event, but because the event is only two days they were limited in amount of training and development they could provide us with.
As it gave a brief introduction to all fields, it was not as specific about each field as I would have liked, but it gave a great overview for people who were not sure what they wanted to do, and even some of us who thought they were certain about which field they wanted to apply for, they changed their minds.
It really did, as we got to find out a bit more about KPMG
The brief introductions to each field were very helpful.
Everything Else
We were reimbursed for up to 100 pounds
Yes, we had a drink with people who were part of the graduate scheme.
We had a good drink networking oppurtunity
During the introductory presentation we were told a bit about the different events.
Yes I definitely would. The fact that the testing for the internship happens straight away is really good and a lot less stressful. They were lovely and the whole experience was very well planned out, from the application process (which was very fast) right up to the last day of the program.
