    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A very nice atmosphere with the other interns, free food at the pantry, awesome events organised... You even learn how to use a Terminal. Everything should have lead to a 10. Except the actual job which is quite repetitive: you mainly call clients to pitch BBG functions.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Depends of the colleagues - my line manager was wonderful, as well as some other managers. Other people less so.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Many opportunities to confide in people, be it your line manager, HR employees, the managers responsible for your internship, your "Bloomberg Buddy", your connectors, as well as the many people from your teams.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Depends of the day. Ordinary day is 8am-8pm, but before you present projects you will work later hours.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Not many responsibilities... mainly calling clients. Which is a big responsibility in a way, but no direct contact with them otherwise and little other tasks.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not much, except learning more about the Terminal, which is already grate, as well as developing your sales skills on the phone.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Nice atmosphere at my desk but not great - though other desks have a much lighter environment. Otherwise people were friendly and approachable so you can meet many employees, which is great. The sales teams travel a lot so the atmosphere can be quite silent some days and much more lively at other days. The atmosphere in Analytics is more tense.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised, though some problem arised linked to communication - but that is bound to happen in a big company. You have an overview from the big events of the internship since day 1 which is great.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Many possibilities to train through development sessions - if you want to learn use them. Less great that you have to mainly call and don t learn as much as you could with similar level of qualifications.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    National Travel

    International Travel

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very good employment prospects depending of your department, really great for people wanting to be hired.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Amazing atmosphere among the interns, they were the best part of the internship in my opinion. HR did a great job selecting individuals with an open personality, travel experience and broad mindsets.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The office is in London. London is not cheap: food, socializing, rents... you will have to pay a lot of money to maintain the lifestyle you are used to if you come from other less expensive areas.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London is expensive, but the Nightlife is amazing. Many things to do and the nightbuses are really helpful. Enjoy London and your amazing Friday evenings!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, you can participate to the charity events which can be great. They also organised a giant picnic for all the employees of the EMEA region which was absolutely brilliant (free food and drinks, henne sessions, manages, games, flower crowns crafting...) as well as a visit of the Harry Potter studios - I felt like a child again from the amount of fun I had.
