The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my 6 week internship. Not only were there plenty of social events where I was able to build my network and get to know my colleagues but also the variety of work I received whilst out on audits and in the office helped me gather a more rounded idea of auditing as a profession.
My colleagues took me under their wing straight from the start and made me feel included within the firm.
If I had an questions, anyone was happy to help and took the time to explain things.
I had my very busy periods and my downtime where I would ask for work or gather information for my project.
A good amount of responsibility. Was asked to do different bits of work and left to get on with it.
Developed new skills and fine tuned existing ones to overall become a better well rounded candidate.
The Company
Really friendly and social.
Very organised. We knew what was expected of us right from day one.
They invested time and money in my development and offered me a graduate offer which I was very pleased about.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing. I think Grant Thornton as a company is a great place to work and look forward to my future here.
The Culture
Great social scene. Lunches and social drinks are a common theme.
Reasonable. You are expected to pay a little if you want to interact and socialise but it is fairly priced.
Very busy. Living in Edinburgh that will always be the case.
Yes. Golf and football tournaments, even yoga classes were attended by the group.
