The Role
As it was my first ever internship, I didn't have expectations before starting the job. However, after only 2 months of work, I feel like I have been working here for years, because everything is so relaxed and I feel like home.
What impressed me the most here was the environment. Not a single second have I felt as if I was at work or under stress. I felt like in a real family and, although I was pretty new here, my colleagues made me feel like I've been one of them for a long time.
If I could rate this with more than 10 stars, I would definitely do it. My supervisor has helped me through my whole internship, and if he hadn't been here, most of my contribution to the project wouldn't exist now.
The schedule was well organised. The time spent on a task differs from one card to another and, especially at the beginning, it seemed to me that the tasks were impossible. But after getting used to the project, I managed to finish some tasks quite early and even to ask for new cards on the same day.
As I was new to everything, the main objective of the company was to get me accustomed to the technologies they were using. At the beginning I was given easier tasks, but I ended up solving more difficult tasks, which would have seemed impossible in my first days. During the whole internship I felt like I was treated equally to all the other colleagues and that they put their trust in me, even if I was new.
Every little thing you get to know helps you in life. Especially when it's about technologies widely used in the field you study and you want to work in. I am pretty sure that I will get to work with these technologies at a much higher level, so these first steps I learnt during my internship at Softwire will help me a lot.
The Company
Great!!! I have never felt at work, just meeting with my friends. And being productive at the same time.
I realised that the company is very well organised even before starting the work, especially when I had the interviews. During these 2 months, my supposition was confirmed.
They have put their trust in me even since my first day. They helped a lot when I had problems (not so rarely) and their attitude was 100% professional.
Company Parties/Events
After I finish university, Softwire will definitely be the company I will apply at.
The Culture
We have all been really good friends. And I am sure that we will stay so even from now on.
