    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • As it was my first ever internship, I didn't have expectations before starting the job. However, after only 2 months of work, I feel like I have been working here for years, because everything is so relaxed and I feel like home.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • What impressed me the most here was the environment. Not a single second have I felt as if I was at work or under stress. I felt like in a real family and, although I was pretty new here, my colleagues made me feel like I've been one of them for a long time.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • If I could rate this with more than 10 stars, I would definitely do it. My supervisor has helped me through my whole internship, and if he hadn't been here, most of my contribution to the project wouldn't exist now.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The schedule was well organised. The time spent on a task differs from one card to another and, especially at the beginning, it seemed to me that the tasks were impossible. But after getting used to the project, I managed to finish some tasks quite early and even to ask for new cards on the same day.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As I was new to everything, the main objective of the company was to get me accustomed to the technologies they were using. At the beginning I was given easier tasks, but I ended up solving more difficult tasks, which would have seemed impossible in my first days. During the whole internship I felt like I was treated equally to all the other colleagues and that they put their trust in me, even if I was new.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Every little thing you get to know helps you in life. Especially when it's about technologies widely used in the field you study and you want to work in. I am pretty sure that I will get to work with these technologies at a much higher level, so these first steps I learnt during my internship at Softwire will help me a lot.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great!!! I have never felt at work, just meeting with my friends. And being productive at the same time.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I realised that the company is very well organised even before starting the work, especially when I had the interviews. During these 2 months, my supposition was confirmed.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They have put their trust in me even since my first day. They helped a lot when I had problems (not so rarely) and their attitude was 100% professional.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events
