The Role
It was a brilliant experience, which was certainly made all the better through the great colleagues and seamless integration into the company.
We were treated as equals and performed the roles of graduates within our placement.
We were able to draw upon the vast experience of our colleagues, who knew exactly how we felt and were able to pass on their knowledge and tips, so we were able to be fully functional in a short amount of time.
We most certainly never had anything not to do! It was well managed and colleagues did not pile the work up on us when we were already on another engagement. There were certain times during the year when the level of work impinged on other activities, but you can never do too much for a good job!
We were given the responsibility of a normal associate and were expected to function at their level during the placement. This was a brilliant feeling and from their point of view was completely understandable as we had passed through a rigorous assessment.
I will certainly take away and develop upon what I learnt at Ernst & Young, an invaluable experience where I was able to develop and will take the skills learnt back to University with me.
The Company
We had a great social experience within the department. Not only this, but we were assigned managers to look after us during our placement, who helped us integrate and definitely showed us the ropes!
There was a seamless integration and at no point were we left in the dark.
We were placed into college for the first month of the placement and also at a conference for a week and a half, so there was ample opportunity for training.

The Culture
We had a brilliant social scene, with pub of the month and a firm wide Christmas event.
It was expensive, but only as expensive as London is, although we had a large amount of our activities paid for which certainly made it bearable!
It was a brilliant experience and I made the most of it when it was possible.
There are a huge amount of social groups available to join, regardless as to whether you are on a placement or not.
