The Role
Extremely enjoyable 12 week internship.
Everyone I encountered treated me with respect, they valued my insight and at no point did I feel like the "just the intern".
Guidance and support was always offered and made available. I was encourage to pursue this in a number of ways whether it was my line manager, other members of the team, HR or my graduate buddy.
My workload was evenly balanced throughout my internship. If I felt that I needed more work there was always something to pursue or challenge myself with. it was encouraged to take ownership of your workload and objectives.
I was given starter objectives that allowed me to take ownership of my workload. If I felt that my objective deserved more time or work dedicated to them I was encouraged to set stretch goals that I was in charge of. I never felt micro-managed at any point and this suited my working style.
I had a vast amount of exposure to industry standard tools related to my degree and given the opportunity to develop my understanding of these. An entire week was also devoted to training and personal development at our dedicated training center.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was welcoming and friendly. Although everyone is in the office to get work done there were times to chat and socialise with colleagues.
My time here was very well organised. I had a well structured 12 weeks.
Apart from the training and learning during my internship an entire week of my time here was devoted to training and personal development at our dedicated training center.

I was offered a graduate position on the completion of my internship, this meaning I can go back to my final year of university knowing that I have a job waiting without having to take part in any more assessment centers or interviews.
The Culture
A couple of social events were set up for us in the beginning so as to break the ice and after that we met up regularly going bowling or going to the pub etc.
Accommodation was fairly expensive and about standard prices when out socialising.
Good pubs and a couple clubs.
There are football teams and sailing clubs etc. that are organised through work and plenty of other clubs and groups in the local area.
