The Role
THoroughly enjoyable.
Demanding, yet rewarding.
Facilitated at all stages, whilst given the necessary independence to develop organically.
A work flow that was stimulating, yet enabled me to complete each task with the necessary due diligence.
Responsibility was given from the offset, ascending in accordance to my experience and familiarity with the role.
I have refined my Microsoft Office skills which are paramount in my studies. Additionally, I have gained a pragmatic underpinning to the theoretical work studied on my course, compounding the basics and giving me a platform to spring from.
The Company
Atmosphere was conducive to work, without being solemn.
Oversight from my manager and well-structured programme ensured that my internship was well co-ordinated.
Barclays Capital made a substantial investment, providing me with a broad exposure to all areas of the company, hosting structured training sessions and a suite of extra-curricular events to broaden horizons.
I have signed a contract and wish to develop a career within Barclays Capital.
The Culture
Formal and informal events were arranged by Barclays Capital, ensuring that interns and colleagues were able to interact in environments other than work. This enabled relationships to flourish and a network to develop within the bank.
Food was reasonably priced relative to location. Coffees were regular and sourcing of food was independent, with salaries to rival costs.
Canary Wharf is not renowned for its night life, but there are several bars, clubs and restaurants to frequent conveniently.
Vast array of opportunities, which are accessible and convenient.
