    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed this insight week. Every single activity was interesting and valuable. KPMG managed to present us with so many exciting opportunities in such a short period of time. The extend to which I enjoyed this insight can't be described with words, one must experience it themselves, in order to grasp the value of such an experience. I strongly recommend everyone to apply to KPMG 'Women in Technology' program.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I assumed that if I am the first-year intern I would be unvalued. However, all interns were treated seriously as we were proper interns or graduates. The whole atmosphere during this week was very professional and friendly. KPMG made me feel as though this was the place I want to work, this is the place where I belong and this is definitely the place where I would like to come back. Everyone hosting and organising the event was very enthusiastic and motivated. You could actually see and feel that this wasn't just another Insight day for them.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I have received a great amount of support. The organisers promoted independent work so if you do not require guidance then you will not be pestered with it. But, if at any point you require any assistance the organisers will be more than happy to help you with anything you need, they were very accommodating. Everything was translated to us in a concise and easy to understand manner.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • During our week we had a heavy focus on presentation, communication and employability skills. These skills will undoubtedly help me in my further career prospects and at university as my team working and leadership skills were also developed. Overall, the skills learned throughout the week are extremely practical even if you do not go into the specific field of the company.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • There has been a clear and concise structure of the week, with clear agendas set every morning. All activities and workshops were balanced out very well with enough time given to intern for the rest and lunch. They made sure we had enough to do throughout the day and we had enough time to do it without it getting lethargic and dull.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was great, everyone wanted to be there and so was enthusiastic. Everyone I spoke to was pleasant and I easily spoke and was comfortable with many of the people there. As touched upon earlier you are treated as an adult which is very nice and helps you yourself get invested in the role and the tasks at hand. Overall the general atmosphere was great and I looked forward to arriving every day.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • From the introduction to KPMG and networking with different workers, I believe the firm is investing a lot of resources into training and development. Ultimately, all of the interns on the programme are only first years and these sorts of schemes are not normally available to us. However, KPMG have provided me with a fantastic opportunity to develop great skills this early on in my degree and career that will guide me through the rest of my career search.
