The Role
For my first job, this placement has been an opportunity of a lifetime. It is a very stuctured programme, focussed on showing your skills as well as developing them.
My team was absolutely fantastic and I felt like a memeber of the team, everyone was professional and helpful.
The programme is such that I got a lot of guidance and was not just thrown into the deep with no idea what to do. There's help and support both from the HR team and from my line manager and team members.
There was an adequate amount of work for me to do daily and the tasks set out for me were challenging as well as doable.
The level of responsibility I took for my work was very well balaced, as I decide how best to approach my tasks as well as report regularly to my supervisor.
I have gained a wealth of knowledge both technocally and non technically during my work placement which will be useful to me for a lifetime.
The Company
For an open plan work space office, the atmosphere was usually calm and friendly. My team was very well knit together and the ambience was always a good balance of professional and friendly.
The internship is very very well structured. From the first day to the last, there was communication and guidance from the HR team, there were events to help build our competencies and the order of all the events were vey well organised.
BP is very keen on personal development and I am very impressed at the level at which we were encouraged to build our competencies and the way they organised events, gave us the opportunity to organise events as well and also organised training sessions to help us develop core skills.

Extremely thrilled for the opportunity to work with BP next year!
The Culture
Yes. We interns often organised diners and nights out and even managed to be involved with interns on the other sites, which was really good.
As I worked in London, it was relatively more expensive to live and travel, however, BP gives allowances for London based staff.
Good, cheap on Thursdays.
Yes there were, and I got the opportunity to be involved with the volley ball sports team.
