    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Everyone there was very friendly and easy to talk to, the work was interesting and you were always given a large variety of work to complete

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was given a vast array of tasks to complete by my colleagues, far more than what I was expecting to be given. Also, there were lots of opportunities to go out with colleagues for food/drinks

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My in-charges gave me a lot of pointers on how to complete the tasks I had been given, and also helped me to pass my final interview

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was nearly always enough work to keep my occupied for the day, with me being required to work late on some occasions. This being said, I was allowed to leave early on Fridays if my work had been completed

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I felt like I was given tasks that would be similar to what I would be doing in a graduate role. I was set tasks and left to get on with them, and then submitting them to the file once they had been competed, and then if there were any corrections highlighted by management I would correct them

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My skills were developed a small amount during the internship with me capably being able to complete all tasks set for me by the end of it. The company will support my professional training once I join as a graduate

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • When I was in the office there always seemed a good atmosphere, but as I was doing audit the majority of my time was spent at client's site, and so I didn't fully experience the office

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very organised. I had an induction on the first day, and once I joined up with my team I had a list of clients who I'd be working on during my time there

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I had to complete the health and safety and ethics training, but other than that I had none during my internship. I had a performance manager who regularly met with me to discuss how I'm finding my work and who helped me prepare for my final interview

    4/5

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I was given a final interview during my internship. I was helped to prepare for this by everyone I worked with and my people leader and performance manager, and this helped me to get a graduate role within the company

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We all were able to talk to one another in the office or over the inter-company messenger and there were events organised for the students on the vacation programme

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home during my internship as I was well within commutung distance, and the cost of socialising in Birmingham isn't too expensive

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Although I didn't experience it during my internship, the nightlife is very good in Birmingham
