About You
The insight was a very useful programme. Over the day it allowed you to get a feel of RBC as a whole, and a better idea of the sector you wished to apply for. The programme was a great tool as a first year when you are unsure about what career path you wish to take and want some more guidance and information.
I feel that the company valued you being there and there were always people to greet you and answer questions. You were also reimbursed travel costs, free food and given the opportunity to be fast tracked onto the summer internship. There was also a networking event one evening to meet other members of the firm and interact with your peers.
Somebody from each department delivered a speech about their job role and what it entailed so you got a very well rounded view of every area of the business. There was also lots of guidance about the application process and what to expect at the next steps. As well as people on hand all the time to ask questions to
I wouldn't say the skills developed would help me with my degree as such, but the information received and skills acquired will definitely assist me with future assessment centres and interviews.
The Company
Very well structured, I think within the day we covered a lot of topics and gained a lot of information. I would maybe suggest it would have been useful to have a tour of the office so that you could get a better feel of the way things worked and the general atmosphere of the office.
The atmosphere was great, everyone was very friendly and there was definitely sufficient time to network and meet people. All of the employees at RBC that came to talk to us were very friendly and upbeat also.
Yes on the evening we had networking drinks with some other employees. This was a great chance to not only meet them but to find out some more information with other employees. It would have been great to have had a couple more graduates to speak to and get a better feel of the company and what life is like as a graduate.

Yes definitely, it was a great first year programme to get a good idea of what RBC offers and the different career paths available. It was also a really great opportunity to be fast tracked to the next stage of interviews towards a summer internship
